NoW is an interdisciplinary collective practice based in Vienna. It’s members are Paulina Flores, Juan Vértiz Márquez, Paul Takunda, Elisabeth Utz and Sophia Zorzi. During 2025, they had two working periods at clanz – in may and in september/october – and thanks to a funding for alumni of the university for angewandte kunst / social design they will be able to continue their work over the first half of 2026. A longer term cooperation is in preparation.

„In the region of Trieste we were encountered by two waterbodies: one sometimes referred to as Reka-Timavo, and another one people have named Aquedotto Teresiano. One we got to know as an elusive, partly unknown river, the other as an infrastructure of urban water supply. What is told of these two bodies? What do they tell themselves?
To approach these questions, we must first relearn kinship beyond the anthropogenic separation of human and nonhuman voices; towards a practice of listening, meaning-making, and ecognosis. For us, this means standing in active, collective solidarity, and caring for one another as we confront the systems driving local and global ecological crises.
We understand ourselves as containers, interlocutors for the two waterbodies at the center of this conversation. Through a process of performative mediation, by becoming water, we aim to trigger a dialogue between these separated voices, ultimately with the goal of reminding us, humans, that we must acknowledge and heal our kinship with water. Effectively, we want to start this process by breaking down boundaries of otherness, whether geographic or social, human or nonhuman.“
