Festa dele Secade / Praznik Sekad
with a concert by Doreen Kutzke

The shore in front of the Cernizza Forrest near Duino / Devin used to consist of areas with sparse vegetation, so-called secade, which have been destroyed by embankments to create industrial production zones throughout the 20th century. A part of the last remaining secada-section has been bought by a consortium of activists in order to preserve it as a freely accessable natural resort.

The Festa dele Secade was organized in cooperation with the local comunella and with the municipality Duino / Devin in order to present the project to the inhabitants of the region, offering a buffet with local and translocal produce and a concert by german singer Doreen Kutzke. She practices experimental vocal techniques and, in an inviting manner on a low-threshold level, creates participative situations through the common form of yodelling.
