    Sound Residency 2024

Based on the open calls of Small Forms (for their 2024-program) and ABC – Adriatico Book Club (for their residency @ POP Adriatico) three sound artists are invited to develop a new work in & in relation to Trieste / Trst. Their stay will be between middle of August and middle of September, and they will profit from the use of the entire premises of the Clanz, access to the Monumental Gates of the Porto Vecchio, and from expertise provided by the participating organisations Small Forms, ABC and Gangart.

During the residency period, there will take place several public / semi-public events, which will be communicated seperately / updated here.

The clanz residency ’24 is funded by Culture Moves Europe,
a mobility program of the European Union implemented by the Goethe-Institut

    Adina Camhy
Adina Camhy’s artistic practice takes different forms: sound, video, installation, performance etc. Her works are shown in public spaces, swimming pools and coffee houses as well as at film festivals, cinemas and exhibitions. Since 2023 she does research in the Italian/Slovenian border zone on the topic of Karst/Karso/Kras in the Capitalocene.

    Barbara Togander
Her constant biografical movements between Sweden, Tunisia, Spain, Liberia, Argentina, are clearly reflected in her music: a sonic universe of fragmentations, collages of sound textures and a frenetic vocal chaos of sounds and invented words (or not). In her current projects, she is examining the relationship between architecture and sound.

    Vinzenz Schwab
In his work, which moves between the areas of electroacoustic composition, live electronics, film music and sound design, he deals with concrete sound material and explores its transformation possibilities. His live setup consists of specially programmed ‚patches‘ for intuitive sound manipulation, taking into account unconventional sound and tuning systems – in particular the ‚Lucy Harrison scale‘.
